Drama & Performing Arts
Stafford Grammar School is bursting with opportunities for drama and performing arts.
We want our pupils’ talents to shine, and at the same time encourage as many students as possible to join in and have great fun.
Our students feel a great sense of joy from their participation in the performing arts – and there is always a lot of laughter coming from rehearsals!
There are school plays and a large-scale annual whole school musical production to get involved in. From auditions to the opening night, our students work hard and have an amazing time producing a fantastic show. Our musicals have received high acclaim in the local press with audiences often commenting that our shows are the best productions they have ever seen in a school

As well as the actors on stage, our students get involved backstage, in set creation and on the sound and lighting desk, where they work one-to-one with industry professionals. With each of our productions, we have created student-led production teams involving:
- Directors,
- Producers
- Stage managers
- Marketers
- Front of house staff
- Costume teams
Theatre Trips & Extra-Curricular Drama
We take regular theatre trips, both locally and to London. Our students have also performed their own plays at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
There is a thriving Dance Club to get involved in, with the chance to enter national competitions.
LAMDA is a very popular extracurricular option at Stafford Grammar School. We have 3 LAMDA teachers and all through the school we have many students who take individual or paired lessons each week.
Our students can learn dance skills and express themselves in dance lessons in our brand new dance studio.
