9 to 5 – an amazing performance!
The musical is always a highlight of any school year and, after years of top shows, expectations are always high. This year’s choice, 9 to 5, was fantastic. It had all the ingredients for success: great songs, a funny plot and, of course, an incredibly talented cast. The show embraced all year groups, with a record number of Year 7 participants. Led ably by Liv Smith, Jenny Kendall, Nina Fitton and Oliver Jackman, the cast had the audience laughing, cheering and dancing in their seats. It was a special musical for Liv and Jenny, who will be departing for university next year. Both have been at the heart of many shows and their phenomenal voices will be sorely missed. Luckily for us, we have a host of other talented individuals itching to step into the limelight. Nina had the opportunity to take on a leading role for the first time, and she more than rose to the occasion. Her confidence and skill was apparent to all – well done, Nina!
Now to the boys! Oliver Jackman played an exceptional misogynistic boss and he had the audience in stitches with his performance. There were also shining performances by Charlie Allen-Smith and newcomer Adam Merron (amazing accents!).
Ms Smith and Mr Lamplough would like to thank the cast and crew for their involvement. We, in turn, would like to thank them for another outstanding musical.Views: 546
