Each October, we throw open our doors and welcome families to see exactly what makes Stafford Grammar School so special. Our school is a place where children are encouraged to reach their individual best, and to achieve more than they thought possible. We love to let families experience the difference themselves. 

Open Morning is a great opportunity to meet the Headmaster, talk to the teaching staff and chat to our pupils. Individual and family tours are provided by our pupils, mainly Year 7, and they are able to give you a real insight into life at Stafford Grammar School.

If you are looking for a Sixth Form experience that will set you on the right path to achieve your goals and realise your aspirations, then Stafford Grammar School is the place for you. 

To find out more about our Sixth Form, our Information Evening is a great place to begin. Families are invited to hear talks by the Head of Sixth Form as well as the Head Boy and Girl and senior students.

There will also be presentations delivered by each Head of Department and you will be able to ask lots of questions about the courses that interest you. 

Current Year 11 pupils are invited to join us to experience a day as a Stafford Grammar School Sixth Former. Candidates take part in their selected preferred A Level subjects in order to help them prioritise their subject options. It also allows the extremely important opportunity to experience lessons from the subject teachers who are so influential for this next level of educational challenge. The day is an opportunity for prospective pupils to meet each other and our current pupils who they will be able to start forming friendships with.

Assessment and Experience Days offer pupils the chance to complete our assessment papers in order to be offered a place at Stafford Grammar School. We want pupils to have a really positive day with us and so they will also be involved in other activities such as quizzes, team building, science activities, sport and drama.

Prospective pupils will also be provided with lunch in school. These days provide an insight into school life and are an excellent opportunity to ask our staff and pupils questions. We understand that new pupils can sometimes feel nervous about visiting a new school and so we ensure that they are fully supported and guided throughout the day in order to feel happy and at home.

If you are unable to attend our Assessment & Experience Days in June or November, we are very happy to accommodate you at any time. Please call the school and speak to the Headmaster’s secretary. Your child will be able to visit us, complete our entrance assessment papers and visit some sample lessons with a ‘buddy’ in the same class if they wish.

Pupils from Reception class to Year 6 are able to spend time in our Prep. School and meet the teachers and our pupils. They can attend for a morning, an afternoon or all day. We are entirely flexible and will personalise the experience for your child.
