STAFFORD GRAMMAR SCHOOL

Admissions

The school accepts entrants into Year 7 and into Years 8-10 if places are available and into the Sixth Form.

Admission is by examination, reference and interview.

The examination for Year 7 entry consists of standardised tests in Verbal Reasoning, Mathematics and English, plus a short creative English paper.

Entry into the Sixth Form is by interview, reference and conditional upon GCSE results.

A limited number of Scholarship and Bursary awards are available.  "Governors' Awards"  also provide annual scholarships for the most successful 3 students in each year group.

The maximum award for any pupil, including sibling discounts, is 50% of school fees.

We appreciate the importance of getting the feel for a school before making a commitment.  We encourage all prospective families, both parents and children, to come for a tour of the school during the working day to see lessons and activities in progress.

Fees

Fees from January 2013 are £3510 per term throughout Stafford Grammar School from Year 7 to Upper Sixth Form. This fee is inclusive of text books and almost all curriculum materials and most extra-curricular activities.  It excludes school uniform and sports kit, optional cafeteria school lunches, transport to and from school, school trips and any peripatetic activities or lessons such as in music, LAMDA or dyslexia/educational support.

Siblings: there is a deduction of 10% from the fees of the elder sibling if two siblings are at SGS at the same time. If there are three siblings at SGS at the same time, 20% is deducted from the fees of the eldest and 10% from the middle sibling. The same sibling fee discount applies in SPS but it does not apply across the two schools.
